Psychology impact of a design varies from person to person and depends on various factors. When Cred started designing the first-ever version of the app, they had 6 fundamental principles for their design. One of them is - All users are not customers.

Since then they have changed app design multiple times while keeping the "Core Feature Design Ethos" intact.

Design Ethos
Engaging - incentivizes good credit behavior and creates a sense of accomplishment.
Motivating - Use the app without feeling overwhelmed or confused.
Trustworthy - helps users feel safe and confident while doing financial transactions

Cred Design Systems

Topaz ( Minimalism and Illustrative)
the very first Design System was created specifically for credit card payments and the subsequent reward-granting mechanism.

Fabrik ( Bold and Skeuomorphic )
well suited for transactional flows while the new universe of CRED required stronger data visualization capabilities.

Copper ( Neumorphism and Physical )
as CRED rapidly scaled to a true multi-genre product, the need for a design system that imbibed the diverse design needs of the various product offerings.

NeoPOP ( Illustration and Motion )
inspired by the art movement, it imbibes the principle of turning everyday objects into true art. Also extending into their marketing and visual merchandising spaces.

Behind all these hides a simple rule is Memorable Design Aspects : among the all installed apps, people tend to remember the one that stands out better. Cred app is more memorable because it is distinct from other financial apps on my phone.

In psychology, we call it the Von Restorff Effect. It is about being distinctive and standing out from the crowd. This is harder than it seems in a design world where everyone is trying to create something new and unique. However, distinctiveness can be as subtle as it is about bright, eye-catching designs.
